I click on the campaign, and to my dismay, I am brought to the intro movie again instead of to the menu where you can click resume game. Upon some research on the internet about MW2 losing campaign progress, an old reddit thread I came across suggested to untick the read-only box on the players folder where the save data is, and launch the game

Running the game as an administrator does nothing, and running the game in compatibility mode does nothing either. Trying to switch to singleplayer from multiplayer doesn't work at all. Multiplayer launches completely fine. EDIT: Just tried installing Call of Duty 1 and it has the same problems.
just upgraded to windows 10. It worked great in windows 7 however in 10 multiplayer starts and I think will run but I'm not good with that one. Liked single player but in 10 it won't start. It's original disc game of year box set. was wondering if any way to make it run. settings are at windows xp service pack 3 and run as admin.
