Just a Scag. You will have a non-functioning tractor if you remove the DPF and itβs associated sensors without making changes to the fuel system operating software. You should not have to perform parked regents if the system is working properly. That said, the original software used in a B3350 was quite problematic.
The DPF is basically a good system, but you must operate your diesel at higher rpm than most normally do, this to encourage automatic regens as you work. Consistent short time use of a tractor, at low rpm can quickly fill the DPF with particulates. So the harder you work your tractor, the better your DPF gets cleaned.
The stealership replaced the thermostat and 'conjuction' for $1200, and now say they cannot regen the dpf and it needs replacement (they did not obviously drive to induce regen). I haven't driven with my DPF warning for more than 100 miles for sure (before the visit to the stealership). I am wondering if it is worth trying to regen the dpf myself.
Whereas a passive regeneration can take anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes, an active protocol can take upwards of one hour or longer. More important, the truck or farm machine must be parked and not in use. The most desirable procedure is the passive regeneration, since it keeps the unit in service and is the gentlest on the DPF.
What is DPF Regeneration? Every filter, regardless of what it is designed to trap, will have to be cleaned and emptied on a regular basis so that there is space to continue trapping more things. This process of cleaning and emptying a Diesel Particulate Filter is called DPF regeneration. The soot created by the process of combustion which is
I noticed that my DPF filter was reading 95%. Opened Forscan and it said that the the filter was only at 37% full. Tried to do a manual static regen but Forscan would not let me because the values were to low. Went to my Ford Diesel mechanic and he was able to force a regen with the Ford software. After about 30 minutes the task was completed.
